Coming Soon

My Tales from a Tool Junkie series has been MIA for the summer as I've just been too busy. But I have the ultimate tool coming tomorrow and can't wait to post some things about it!

I am also working on a blog article for the Etsy Maine Team blog on how we take care of ourselves, relax, recharge, etc. I am hoping to get some good tips from other Maine Team members.

As usual, there are lots of ideas running around in my head, but the problem is finding time to get them out. So as much as I hate to say it, here's to Fall and maybe a bit more time and organization.

The one I made:

And the one I'm in:

Etsy Maine Team Meeting

Yesterday (August 16th) I was privileged to host the Etsy Maine Team Meeting in Ellsworth. Lots of people braved the heat and joined me at my husband's office (thankfully air conditioned).

I met some people I've only chatted with online and re-acquainted myself with people I didn't know were my neighbors (one lives right up the road from me!). We talked shop (Maine Team promotion, etc. and general Etsy stuff) and stuff that wasn't so much shop. (It seems like when a bunch of women get together the talk eventually turns to children and childbirth and we covered both!)

There were yummy blueberry scones and many people brought stuff to show off. I especially loved SoJo's ACEO's, Meg's little Lollipop Favors, and Nikki's felted things (the duck!). It was cool to see Julia's bags in person. I missed seeing Sandy's stuff because by the time I turned around to look, it was already packed away.

Thanks to our fearless leader, Jen, for all her hard work. Hannah's baby is as cute as ever and Patti's little girl was so quiet I hardly knew she was there. Becky was just as cute and nice as I expected and I didn't get a chance to tell her how much I loved the choker and earrings she was wearing. Alisha and I spent a while trying to figure out where we knew each other and she finally remembered that we were beside each other in a show two or three years ago (good memory, Alisha).

I didn't take any pictures, but Nikki did and hopefully she will post them soon.

Here is a full list of the people who were there and their shops:

Sandy from Popple Tree - really nice placemats, totes, etc.
Nikki from Moon Dog Farm - the cutest needlefelted things and necklaces for moms
Julia from One Woman Studio - bags made from recycled feed bags and other things made from other things (check out her shop and you will see what I mean)
Patti from Posy Studio - jewelry with teeny tiny people - very cool
Meg from Olio Designs - lollipop favors, invitations and other paper goods - love the favors - such a cute idea
Hannah from The Fiddlin' Trucker - handsewn accessories - my favorites are the little ballerina baby shoes
Becky from Becky Rose Designs - the most beautiful handwoven things
Alisha from AgapeLuv - natural candles and soaps - mmmm
Jen from Quench Metalworks - gorgeous and unique jewelry by one of the most talented metalsmiths I know
Janyce from Sojourn Quilts - beautiful quilted wall hangings and ACEOs

We have a winner(s)!

Well, today's the day I name my sales fairy. She's been quite quiet the last few days, with a sale the day after I put her up on my computer, and none since. So maybe she's waiting for an official name. Thanks to all the awesome suggestions. I have chosen:

It's actually a meshing of two different spellings of the same name that I received. The winners are Peggy from Three Bridges Sewing Co. and Casie from Littleput Land. They will each get to choose a pair of earrings from my Etsy Shop.

More New Listings in my Etsy Shop

I have been busily making new pieces the last few weeks and I've been slowly getting them up in my Etsy shop. You can see them there.

I do have a few more pieces to list, but that will have to wait until next week as the next few days will be a bit crazy for me and I will be at the Winter Harbor Lobster Festival all day Saturday.

Here's a preview of the newest items I have listed:

Below is a coordinating set of necklace, earrings and bracelet. I designed the bracelet (center) to be wrapped around the wrist several times or it can be worn as a necklace with the flower in the front like a lariat or the back.

And speaking of previews, here is a sneak peek of some of the things I will be listing next week:

My New Business Cards

I just got an email that they are on their way. I decided to put less information and a photo of a piece of my work. I got some really good advice and suggestions from a couple of other sellers at the last craft fair I did.

My newest listings

I have lately made some new pieces and here are a few of them:

Reminder: Name my Sales Fairy Contest

You still have time to suggest a name for my sales fairy. Just comment below. I will choose my favorite from all suggestions on August 11th and the winner will receive their choice of earrings from my Etsy, except for those earrings that match a necklace or bracelet.
